Project Details

The Project Details step is the first and foundational step in the Website Redesign Wizard. Here you'll enter the URL of the website you want to redesign, which the system will analyze to extract key brand elements.

Entering the Website URL

  1. On the Project Details screen, you'll see a URL input field.

  2. Enter the complete URL of the website you want to redesign (e.g., https://www.example.com).

  3. Make sure to include the correct protocol (http:// or https://).

  4. Click the "Analyze Website" button to begin the extraction process.

Loading State

After submitting the URL, the system will analyze the website to extract brand information:

  • The extraction process typically takes 10-30 seconds depending on the website size.

  • A loading indicator will display during this process.

  • The system is extracting color schemes, logos, and potentially font information.

Success State

Upon successful extraction:

  • You'll see a success message.

  • The system will automatically advance to the Brand Review step.

  • All extracted information will be saved to your project.

Failure State

If the system fails to extract information from the URL:

  • An error message will display explaining the issue.

  • Common causes include:

    • Invalid URL format

    • Website inaccessibility

    • Websites with advanced security measures

    • Very complex or non-standard website structures

Troubleshooting URL Issues

If you encounter an error:

  1. Verify the URL is correct and includes the protocol (https:// or http://).

  2. Try removing URL parameters (everything after a ? in the URL).

  3. If the homepage is complex, try a simpler page from the same website.

  4. Check if the website is accessible in a regular browser.

Proceeding to the Next Step

After successful extraction, the wizard will automatically proceed to the Brand Review step where you can review and modify the extracted brand elements.

If extraction fails repeatedly, you can manually continue to the Brand Review step by clicking "Skip to Next Step" and enter brand information manually.
